From the mouths of babes...

Later that night, in our commonly every night bedtime routine, I
put Caleb in bed & after saying a short and sweet little good night
prayer - I ask him "Who loves you?" he thinks for a moment and
responds by saying "EVERYBODY
LOVES ME"... & I smile and kiss him goodnight.
The naivety in this 6 & 3 year old mind's is endearing!
Their innocence in believing that "Everybody
loves them" warms my heart, I probably believed that Everybody loved me too at that age, but I only hope and
pray - that this "TRUTH" of their's will last a lifetime - that they
both walk through life not only believing and knowing that there is something
special and wonderful and unique about them that not only needs but deserves to be "LOVED" by everybody and that they never ever
settle for anything less!
May you always be LOVED - Gabriella
& Caleb - and by EVERYBODY.

TOP 5 Things I absolutely ADORE about my kids...
1. They wake up happy! Every
day! Without fail! – And that smile when they open their eyes and
see your face – it’s just Priceless! Definitely a habit worth mirroring!
2. They dance! At the
sound of any kind of music, anywhere we are – even if it’s just the ringtone on
my phone or the music from 7de Laan – they wiggle that little 3 year old &
9 month old booties like there’s no tomorrow – out of tune & with a smile
on their faces! It’s hilarious & adorable.
3. They forgive ME –
for every mistake, always! They forgive me for losing it sometimes, they
forgive me for forgetting to change their diaper, for dragging them with me to
the mall when they overtired – for secretly stealing the sweets from their
party packs – they forgive me, right then & there – no grudges, no blame.
4. They so random & unpredictable sometimes – I absolutely
adore the unexpected extended hug when I get home from work from Caleb or the
random “I love you” when I’m giving him a bath – even the unexpected smack or
even waking up to Christian biting my chin! My kiddos never cease to amaze me.
5. They make me feel needed & valued
& beautiful! They never point out that I've got
morning breath and refuse to kiss me good morning, instead I get an endless
supply of spitty kisses at my request – They never tell me my hair’s a mess
& I Iook terrible and refuse to go out in public with me – Christian’s at
his happiest propped on my hip and Caleb holding my hand. No matter the problem
or the hurt – I can hug & kiss ANYTHING better! They trust me – blindly,
completely & without question – they believe everything I say, and do &
go wherever they told. They never tell me I’m boring, they happy just staying
home with mommy, following me everywhere I go, and always staying close whether
I’m washing dishes or mopping the floor, they always right there… ♥

One of my favorite poems of all time...
Phenomenal Women
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
